[Y]ours [T]ruly -Back to the Music.

Thee YANN TIERSEN

If we haven't already praised the French for something, it should be for their influence on classical music. Yann Tiersen is an extraordinary french musician that bridges keepsake to the use real instruments. His ways with instruments and his composition of music makes that auto tune blah we listen to today seem like an insult to music. With his whimsical, melancholy music, Yann Tiersen has become a sought-after composer, not only for his soundtrack work, but in his own right. Back to the Basics. Can we say YT?; Nope TY! Thank You, Yann Tiersen.

Olubowale Folarin's "MY SWEETIE"

"...make my jeloff with lots of peppa"

Olubowale Folarin, artistically known as WALE has recently recreated Bunny Mack's classic "My Sweetie, My Sugar (Let Me Love You ). Now anyone who has been to a West African party should know that this is one of the many theme songs of our events. If a certain series of songs are not played, many begin to question if the event is really an AFRICAN party.Within a few seconds of the song starting, people began to recognize the familar tune, which is usually followed by "OHHHHHHH!!! DA MAH SONG". The dance floor becomes crowded and many recite the lyrics like Bible verses. With this song, Wale takes the time to bridge the gap between the annoyance we have all once felt when being dragged to an African party by our parents and the enjoyment we reluctantly allow to overcome us when we are there. The song is well written and Wale puts an amazing twist on the song, making it his own. The thing that I like most about this song is that the artist was able to keep the originality of the song. Wale stays true to culture in this song; so many of us live in his words. Two Thumbs Up!!

"...you not hard. You fufu soft.."
